Orthodontic cement is used to bond the braces onto the teeth. When it is time to have your braces are removed, the dentist will break the braces off one by one with special pliers. After the wires and brackets have come off, there will be a lot of remnant cement stuck on your teeth. These remaining cement have to be polished and scraped off carefully with skilled hands, to avoid damage to your enamel, fracturing your teeth, hurting your tender teeth or injuring your gums. Resin cement is also attached to the teeth in Invisalign treatment; these attachments have to be removed after Invisalign treatment is completed.
