
It is not unusual to have loose band or broken braces during orthodontic treatment. This can happen if you play with your braces or eat hard/sticky foods. However, if you experience discomfort or pain, it is important that your seek the orthodontist’s help to resolve it. Broken, twisted or displaced wires can scratch your cheeks.
In any event, if the bracket breaks free completely from the archwire wire, bring it along with you on your next appointment so that your orthodontist can fix it back for you. If the bracket is still attached to the wire, you can cover it with wax and leave it in place till your next appointment.
