Sometimes the upper and lower front teeth are far from each other, not even touching. This is called open bite. You may find it difficult to chew certain foods. saliva may fly out of your mouth when speaking, and it may affect your speech.
Open bite may be due to jaw deformity, abnormal tongue posture and activity, failure of some teeth to erupt, or abnormal habits like thumb-sucking or lip biting.
